What is Canvas?
Canvas is SNC’s new externally hosted Learning Management System (LMS) for online, hybrid and face-to-face courses. It is completely replacing both Moodle and CapEd Canvas.
Canvas is integrated with Banner and has automated updates that run twice a day. This means that if Banner-based changes are made (status changes, enrollments, withdrawals, etc.) they will automatically be updated in the next data load.
Log in: at https://sierranevada.instructure.com. Your login email is your SNC (employee or student) email. Your initial password is your ID#.
Password help: Click the ‘Forgot Password?’ link in the login screen.
Emergencies and Weather
SNC has an emergency alert system to notify you of campus closures or delayed start (10 am) due to weather or other circumstances. Closures are set by 6 am whenever possible.
