Sierra Nevada College has teamed with Sodexo dining to provide students with an outstanding dining experience. Patterson Dining Hall at SNC provides students with well-balanced meals including vegetarian and vegan options, as well as a made-to-order grill menu and a fresh salad bar featuring seasonal fruits and vegetables available every day. Meals are prepared with the freshest ingredients, often sourced from local farms and vendors.

Dining Plans

On-Campus Students

Students living on campus are automatically enrolled in the Community Plan ($2,936 per semester), which provides unlimited access to the dining hall when the college is in session. The Dining Contract must be signed prior to the start of the semester.

Off-Campus Students

For their convenience, students living off-campus have several options to purchase meals on campus. In addition to a variety of meal plans, students may also purchase pre-paid Eagle Cards for use in Patterson Dining Hall.
Meal plans and Eagle Cards must be fully paid for at purchase, and expire at the end of each term. Unused meals or funds remaining at the end of the semester DO NOT roll over into the following semester, and cannot be used for purchases outside Patterson Dining Hall.

  • Community Plan: $2,936.00 per semester for unlimited access to the dining hall throughout the semester.
  • Starving Student Plan: $1,323.00 per semester for 120 meals (average 7.5 meals per week)
  • Convenience Plan: $882.00 per semester for 80 meals (average 5 meals per week)
  • Eagle Cards: Rechargeable pre-paid cards are available in $25 increments. They can be purchased online here, and are also available on campus at the dining hall and Registrar’s Office. Buy a $100 card and receive $10 in extra credit – buy a $150 card and receive $20 in extra credit!

Dining Plans - Off-Campus Students

  • Terms and Conditions

    1. The Meal Plan Agreement must be signed below before a Commuter Student Meal Plan may be purchased.
    2. Meal plans are non-transferable and non-refundable. There are no refunds; any monies remaining on the selected plan at the end of the semester revert to the College.
    3. This contract is for the semester selected.  The dining facility will officially start the Meal Plan service with Brunch on the Saturday before classes start in August and January. The dining hall is closed for the following holiday breaks: the week of Thanksgiving break, winter break, and spring break.  The last meal served is dinner the Friday before break.  The last day of the meal plan is lunch the Thursday before graduation in May.
    4. Patterson Hall Food Service reserves the right to change the hours of operation in the Dining Hall at any time during the semester, and will notify the student body 72 hours prior to making any changes.
    5. Meal cards are required for food service and must be presented at each meal.  There is a $25.00 replacement fee for each lost meal card/ student ID card.  Report a lost or stolen meal card immediately to the General Manager.  New cards are issued with the registrar’s office.  It is forbidden for any student to utilize another student’s card, or to give the cashier another student’s card number for payment.  If a student is found using the Meal Card of another student or another student’s Meal Plan Number in order to purchase anything from the cafeteria, it will be considered theft, and will be reported to the Director of  Student Affairs for further action.
    6. The Nevada State Health Code requires that shoes and shirts must be worn at all times.  Ski boots are not allowed in the cafeteria.
    7. For your safety, only Food Service personnel are allowed in the kitchen or behind the service line.  If you need assistance from a manager, please speak to the cashier and they will assist you.  If a student is found entering the kitchen during business or non-business hours, it will be reported to the Dean of Students for further action.
    8. Luria kitchen is used exclusively by trained food service personnel.  Students are not permitted to utilize the food service equipment in Luria without written permission from the Food Service Manager.
    9. Please do not eat while standing in line or waiting in the cafeteria area.  For health code reasons, use only a serving utensil.
    10. All service items (e.g., silverware, plates, etc.) must remain in the dining hall.  If there is excessive theft of these items, a per student charge could be imposed at the end of the semester.  Please bus your own tables and use the recycling bins. Reusable take away boxes and mugs are available for purchase for $5.00, as an alternative, one per meal. Please supply your own silverware for to go meals.
    11. The SNC Honor Code should be followed to insure a pleasant dining experience for your fellow diners.  Students are responsible for their behavior at all times. Inappropriate behavior may be grounds for expulsion from the dining hall, and possibly, formal disciplinary procedures.
    12. Students with documented special dietary requirements should submit this documentation to the Food Service Director at registration.
