New Student Orientation


Welcome to SNC


Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration, which runs on campus from August 10th - 12th, is required for all new students.

Arrival Dates & Times

All new incoming students should arrive on campus on Monday August 10th between 9:00 - 11:30 am. All students taking placement exams should arrive promptly at 9:00am. If you are unsure if you will be taking a placement exam, please call the Admissions Office or check your VIP checklist.  Students must submit a nonrefundable $150 deposit and the Admit Student Reply Form before they will be mailed an orientation and advising packet.

Tahoe or Wilderness Orientation

Join your classmates in exploring your new neighborhood - the pristine alpine environment of the Lake Tahoe Basin. SNC’s Tahoe and Wilderness Orientation programs, which run immediately after SOAR from August 12th - 16th, are not mandatory but are highly recommended for all new students. Meet new friends and ease the transition into college life and the unique opportunities of an SNC education. $100 covers all costs and equipment.

Getting Here

By Air: The Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the closest commercial airport, approximately 30 miles from SNC. The North Lake Tahoe Express provides scheduled shuttle service, reserve in advance.

Explore the 4 Core Themes through a series of team building activities led by current students highlighting SNC's focus on active learning!
