“Tahoe Timescape Exhibition”

October 18, 2018 - November 16, 2018

Artist: Jonathon Keats and Tahoe Public Art
Photographer: Ryland West
Presented by: Tahoe Public Art and Sierra Nevada College

Tahoe Timescape is a public art project by experimental philosopher and artist Jonathon Keats that will photographically document the next thousand years of environmental change in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The project will deploy four Millennium Cameras around all four shores of Lake Tahoe, each one taking a thousand-year-long photographic exposure between 2018 and 3018. The exposures will not only show the view in front of the camera, but also record how it develops over time, revealing dynamics ranging from urban development to climate change. The exhibition will feature site documentation and project materials from Tahoe Timescape as well as work made by SNC students depicting their visions of Lake Tahoe in one thousand years.
