Join Sierra Nevada College for our “Team Eagle” rally ride during the 2017 Tour de Tahoe!
32 Eagles took to the road in the early morning on Sunday, September 10th 2017 to make their second annual 72 mile Tour de Tahoe ride around the lake. The weather was perfect and the team was ready.
Start & Finish: Stateline, NV (Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Parking Lot C)
Course Length: 72 miles
Total Elevation Gain: 4024′
Rest Stops: Emerald Bay | Tahoe City | Kings Beach (Lunch!) | Spooner Junction
The 72-mile Tour de Tahoe – Bike Big Blue circumnavigates Lake Tahoe clockwise on highways 50, 89, and 28 through California and Nevada, at altitudes ranging from 6,300′ to 7,100′ above sea level. It includes a challenging 800-foot climb to a rest stop overlooking Emerald Bay, a 1,000-foot climb to Spooner Junction, and over 4,024 vertical feet of elevation gain! The ride is recommended for conditioned recreational cyclists, not for beginners. Participants must be at least 14 years of age (no children, please) and must be experienced in riding roadways.
Proceeds will support the SNC Tahoe Fund, which helps underwrite student programming and opportunities at the college.
