Join the EAGLES with Experience, Adventure, Group Leadership, Environment, and Style. Core 123 immerses you in SNU Tahoe's transformative way to learn. You will explore your interests, get the tools to shape your future, and become part of a community like no other.
Caldor Fire Update
We are closely monitoring the rapidly developing Caldor Wildfire situation. Our concerns are focused on our students, families, faculty, staff, and community members.
As of Friday, August 27, the following decisions have been made -
New student orientation and move-in will proceed as planned on campus, on Monday, August 30 without change.
All short-block and SNO field courses will begin as scheduled on Tuesday, August 31st. Field courses will take place on campus, within the originally scheduled times. Keeping everyone localized on our campus allows us to respond quickly, appropriately, and effectively should conditions change.
Evacuation, in the event it becomes necessary, will take place in accordance with the guidance of local, state, and national authorities. See www.edcgov.us/Pages/Caldor-Fire.aspx for the most current information.
Your Sierra Nevada Orientation (SNO) field course has been relocated to the SNU campus, but that doesn't mean the spirit of adventure has been lost. You’ll take off on a student-led exploration in the company of your fellow SNU students and peer mentors. SNO adventures are more than a class, they're an experience. Learn new skills, work on projects with impact, and sow the seeds of relationships that will enrich your life through college and beyond.
During the second week, you’ll dive into the teaching and learning styles that give an SNU Tahoe education so much impact. Your first week of classes will immerse you in the core ideas that ground your education: leadership, sustainability, and creativity. Here you will explore the knowledge, skills, and experiences to become a creative and confident thinker.
These first two weeks will prepare you to find your home at SNU.
By Air: The Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the closest commercial airport, approximately 30 miles from SNU. The North Lake Tahoe Express provides scheduled shuttle service, reserve in advance.
