DIY Press and Print Making

Saturdays from 10am – 12:30pm Online – via Zoom – Registration deadline 7/6/20
|In this workshop, make your own printing press from a provided kit that will be mailed to you. You’ll receive lasercut parts with assembly components to build a Provisional Press that you can use to make prints at home! In addition to showing you how to assemble the press, Mary will discuss linoleum, tools, and approaches to making an edition of relief prints. She’ll demonstrate techniques for preparing a block for carving, tool use, and how to print your image on your new press.
Students will need to get some supplies. Info will be provided upon paid registration.
Zoom is easy and free. If you haven’t used it before, we’ll help you!
Raised in Ohio, Mary received a BA in studio arts from Baldwin Wallace University and an MFA in printmaking from Kent State University. In 2019, she completed residencies at The Black Rock AIR program and In Cahoots Residency where she focused on her collage and printmaking practices. Mary has participated in numerous shows nationally and regionally. She is an associate professor at Sierra Nevada University, teaching a variety of courses within two-dimensional practices.
