DIY Screenprinting

July 25th and 26th, 2020
Ever wanted to learn how to print on a t-Shirt or a tote bag? This weekend DIY screen-printing workshop is a great way to learn how to convert your own drawing or design into a collection of hand-printed items. Using the photo emulsion process and your design, we’ll prepare screens and print on a variety of surfaces. No experience necessary.

 Materials Provided

  • screens
  • emulsion
  • inks

Students will provide any of these items.  If you want to print on it, bring it, but here are some suggestions

  • Shirts
  • tea towels
  • bandanas
  • thrift store jean jackets
  • Cards
  • tote bags
  • t-shirts
  • clothing items
  • fabric scraps


Raised in Ohio, Mary received a BA in studio arts from Baldwin Wallace University and an MFA in printmaking from Kent State University. In 2019, she completed residencies at The Black Rock AIR program and In Cahoots Residency where she focused on her collage and printmaking practices.  Mary has participated in numerous shows nationally and regionally. She is an associate professor at Sierra Nevada College teaching a variety of courses within two-dimensional practices. ​
