Learn about Lake Tahoe ecosystems and green building design with a docent-led free interactive tour through the Thomas J. Long Foundation Education Center and the North Lake Tahoe Demonstration Garden. The Thomas J. Long Foundation Education Center conducts public tours Tuesday-Friday from 1-5pm. Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences is located on the northern shores of Lake Tahoe on the campus of Sierra Nevada University in Incline Village, Nevada. It is approximately a 45 minute drive from Reno, and approximately 35 minutes from South Lake Tahoe, California and Carson City, Nevada. Designated visitor parking is available in the west parking lot (second entrance).
The TCES is conveniently served by several modes of public transportation. The Tahoe Area Regional Transit (TART) operates along thirty miles of Lake Tahoe and stops within walking distance of the TCES. Bike racks are available in the summer months.
