Meet the artists of this week’s Summer Arts Workshop: Randy Brodnax, Don Ellis, and Jerry Dodrill. Randy Brodnax and Don Ellis’s ceramics workshop, Fast Fire “Pottree”, will demonstrate a wide variety of throwing, decorating, and firing techniques Jerry Dodrill’s photography workshop, Tahoe Photography, will take students through an experiential approach to color landscape photography while exploring tools and creative techniques to make great photos in the natural world. Meet the Artist – Sunshine Cobb, Phyllis Shafer, William Hutchison

Meet the artists of this week’s Summer Arts Workshop: Sunshine Cobb, Phyllis Shafer, and William Hutchison. Sunshine Cobb’s  ceramics workshop, Hand Built Functional Forms, will teach students how to use the hand building techniques, such as cold and pinch, to generate pottery components. Meet the artists of this week’s Summer Arts Workshop: Danny Meisinger and Nathan Watson. Danny Meisinger’s ceramics workshop, Glazing, Firing, and Throwing Bigger, will focus on throwing larger sectional work. Nathan Watson’s glass workshop, Basic Kiln-Formed Glass, will explore the techniques, tools, and equipment used to create unique kiln formed objects in glass. Meet the artists of this week’s Summer Arts Workshop: Hayne Bayless and Rhiannon Alpers. Hayne Bayless’s ceramics workshop, Happiness is a Warm Extruder, will explore extrusion and slab techniques as they relate to making functional stoneware. Rhiannon Alpers’s papermaking and bookmaking workshop, Paper Leads to Thread, will teach students the basics of creating their own paper with cotton and abaca, as well as different techniques to bind books. Meet the Artist – Rick Parsons, Sean O’Connell

Meet the artists of this week’s Summer Arts Workshop: Rick Parsons and Sean O’Connell. Rick Parsons’s sculpture workshop, Hot Steel and Skin, will teach students how to manipulate steel by using both cold and hot forming techniques. Sean O’Connell’s ceramics workshop, The Exquisite Surface, will explore the ceramic surface as a means to understand the aesthetics of form, decoration, and personal expression.
