I grew up playing in the woods of northern New Jersey. I continued adventuring in the outdoors with Boy Scouts after moving to California, and received my Eagle Scout rank in my freshman year of high school.
I joined a robotics team in high school, which led me to choose mechanical engineering as my first major when I went to UCSD. My enthusiasm for engineering waned after a couple of years, but my love for the outdoors never did. So, after a short attempt at being an economics major, which built up my interest in running my own business, I transferred to SNC as an Outdoor Adventure Leadership and Entrepreneurship major.
