I transferred to SNC from Santa Barbra City College to get back into the mountains and pursue Alpine Skiing. I was eager to pursue a sport that I love and be surrounded by other students who have a passion for the balance between the outdoors and education. SNC is a great environment. The classes are small, which has given me the chance to really connect with my professors. The student body is very social and the small community allows me to know as many people as I want!

Madeleine Hall, Marketing major, competitively skis for SNC TahoeAttending MiddCORE, the summer innovation program held at SNC, exposed me to the advertising side of business and changed my professional goals. It was an eye opening experience – I switched my major to marketing, with a minor in Fine Arts. During the program, I was able to meet many influential entrepreneurs while working for Google-YouTube, iMatter, and on my own invention, Handi-Cup. The coolest outcome was the launch of YouTube Red, which comes from a class collaboration about implementing a YouTube paid subscription which lets users bypass all ads and have a curated playlist based on the videos they have watched.

Seeing our ideas implemented by such a large company proved to me that I can do exactly what I want to do after graduating from SNC. Marketing could take me in a multitude of different directions, but I hope to attend grad school for advertising and eventually work at a company like Red Bull promoting incredible events, or help launch a start-up.
