Caitlin Burrows, English major, sitting above Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe

Major: English

Class of: 2012

I think the most significant thing I’ve learned here at SNC is the importance of having a balanced education. Attending a liberal arts college has made a difference in my life. I have a well-rounded education in art, humanities, business and science.

What I like about my major is that I am able to relate it to so many of my other classes. Whether it is art or business, I find that literature and strong communication skills play a key element in all other subjects of education. One of my favorite classes at SNC was Senior Ethics with Professor Dan O’Bryan. I loved being able to debate and defend my moral code! It was one of the most interactive classes I’ve ever taken.
