Sierra Nevada College has enrolled its second largest freshman class in the College’s history, coupled with a spring to fall retention rate of 92.5%, for an undergraduate enrollment of 549. The enrollment statistics reflect the College’s growing prominence, including recognition as a 2013-2014 College of Distinction.
Coach Branko Zagar has brought in a tremendous group of athletes to fill the void left by our graduating seniors, including New England snowboarders Colleen Healey and Frederick McCarthy, Tahoe freeskier Raleigh White, and Norwegian mogul and slopestyle skier Emilie Amundsen.
Twenty-four SNC students have returned from a four week Service Learning project in the bush country of South Africa, helping with renovations to the local school, working in community gardens, and studying African politics, development economics, and community-based natural resource management.
Many SNC Lacrosse players are playing in the Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament July 25 – 28. SNC defense Sergio Orduna is playing for the Mexico National Team in the FIL World Lacrosse Championships.

Sierra Nevada College launched its Athletics Hall of Fame honoring ski racers Janja Lupse-Virizlaj and Uros Pavlovcic as the first two inductees. The College also been home to many accomplished professional skiers and boarders, and many former – and future – Olympians.
Sierra Nevada College’s newly launched women’s lacrosse team, currently a provisional member of the Western Women’s Lacrosse League, has laid the groundwork for full member team status next fall.
