2014 High School Writing Contest Winners Announced

The awards have been announced for the 5th Annual High School Writing Contest, a national competition which honors high school juniors and seniors in the categories of creative nonfiction, fiction and poetry. The winning submissions were chosen from a record 525 entries from across the United States. The winners receive a cash prize, a $20,000 scholarship offer from SNC, and consideration for publication in the Sierra Nevada Review.

Early Season Training Takes Alpine Ski Team to Mt. Hood

The SNC Alpine Ski Team made the trip to Mt. Hood, Oregon the first weekend in October to get some much needed training on snow before the racing season starts. Tahoe residents are hoping for a normal season after several years of drought – even a “normal” Tahoe winter is pretty great, with an average of over 300 inches of snow.
