General Information

The art department recently moved to our Lake Campus, from our original location on the Mountain Campus. We're now footsteps away from the dorms, gallery, and the rest of the campus. We're also now within walking distance of the lake, and restaurants. Lunch will be served by our kitchen staff at SNC in the Patterson dining hall. We have new equipment, and the studios are new and clean. Please join us this summer for a new, exciting, experience!

On Tuesday night, each week during the workshops, we'll host our "Meet the Artist" lecture, which will be immediately followed by an informal reception in the Tahoe Gallery. It's free and open to the public.

SNC offers a variety of summer workshops given by nationally known ceramists, glass artists, painters, sculptors, printmakers, digital artists, musicians, photographers, paper makers, jewelers, and more.

Students can take workshops for personal enrichment or college credit. Tuition includes some materials, possible firings, equipment rental, etc., and daily lunches. 2009 rates for the week-long workshops are $525 ($630 for 1.5 college credits) and the weekend workshops are $250 ($275 for .5 college credit).

Lake Tahoe and the scenic Sierra Nevada Mountains truly inspire the artist in us all. The workshops teach new techniques and expand your knowledge in the medium. There are many activities in the area to enjoy while you're here also, such as swimming, boating, golfing and hiking to mention a few. Contact us for further information or to receive a printed copy of our schedule.
