Lawrence LaBianca’s work integrates research, experimentation, sculptural forms and nature. Sea Float Project is a collaboration with the environment which harnesses the natural phenomena of wind and waves to generate artwork leaving a record of those uncontrollable rhythms.

Holistic Sustainability in the Arctic

In August 2014, six Sierra Nevada College students traveled above the Arctic Circle to live with and learn from the Gwich’in Tribe of Arctic Village, Alaska. The students focused on Holistic Sustainability, with daily life framed by the mighty Brooks Range and the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) – what some call the last great wilderness.
