The SNC Concert Choir Shubert Shindig will be held Thursday and Saturday, April 3rd and 5th at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Incline Village. A string ensemble will accompanying the choir.
The all-Shubert program includes his Mass in G and solo performances of several songs, many of them familiar. Franz Schubert was a romantic composer who wrote 600 songs, an opera, several masses, several symphonies, and a huge amount of piano literature. Throughout all of these works, melody was his forte. It is beautiful music!
A Schubertiad was a gathering of Shubert’s musical and artistic friends in Schubert’s living room to sing, dance and enjoy his music. We will re-enact a Schubertiad as part of the program.
There is no admission charge for SNC folks – just sign your name as you enter.
