Students and faculty will recount the challenges and achievements of the 2013 South Africa Service Learning Project in a conversation and discussion moderated by President Lynn G. Gillette.
For three weeks this past summer, 22 SNC students lived and worked in the Hoedspruit area of South Africa. They partnered with local communities surrounding the Thornybush Reserve. Leveraging their creativity, entrepreneurial know-how, and their physical labor, they worked side-by-side with local residents. Leaving their comfort zone behind, they learned important things about themselves and about making a difference in the world.
Hear their stories and learn first-hand how service learning experiences transform students’ lives as they seek to transform the lives of others.
