Beets has worked closely with the Sierra Nevada College faculty to develop core themes based on the academic mission and is deeply committed to working with the campus community to strengthen and develop the liberal arts, professional preparedness, entrepreneurship and sustainability at the college. In addition to her administrative responsibilities as Executive Vice President and Provost, Beets teaches classes in ethics, critical thinking, women’s studies, religion, Nevada Constitution, American history and popular culture. Prior to coming to Sierra Nevada College, Beets spent 14 years in higher education administration at various institutions. Concurrent with her administrative career, Beets also had the pleasure of teaching undergraduates at the University of La Verne and California State University, Fullerton before arriving at Sierra Nevada College.
