Community Kudos

North Lake Tahoe Bonanza:   A strong community is built by community members who care about its safety, health, education and opportunities. In Incline Village we are fortunate to have many people who fit those guidelines. They deserve our thanks.

Congratulations to the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District for winning the "Outstanding Community Partnership," award at the 10th Annual Silver Syringe Awards. Members were honored for their commitment to immunization outreach efforts in the community.

Kudos to Incline High School seniors Liz Ferme and Kat Mancuso who made it to the semifinal round of the National Merit Awards. They are two of 1.4 million students who apply and 16,000 who earn a spot as semifinalists.

Thank you to the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, Incline Village General Improvement District, Lake Tahoe School and Sierra Nevada College for coordinating the 2007 Village Trail of Treats and Terror. Our community’s children need a safe way to celebrate Halloween, and you’ve provided it.

Our appreciation to former Miss Nevada Kelsey Kara and her husband Garry Carson, for their donated performance Sunday night to help support the Community Stadium 2009 project. The all-weather outdoor sports complex at Incline High School will be a valuable asset for students and community members to use.

Applause to IVGID for supporting Incline resident Jim Peterson in an effort to gather Incline’s veterans. Their experience is valuable to our community.

And our appreciation goes out to everyone who plans to donate blood today at the United Blood Service’s blood drive. Your generosity will help people in medical need.
