May – The Sierra Nevada Review Recognized by National Alternative Press Website
The 25th anniversary issue of the Sierra Nevada Review, edited by poet and SNC professor Laura Wetherington working with MFA and BFA students, received a glowing review from the online independent press guide New Pages Review. Reviewer Melanie Tague remarked on the insight and impact of the pieces, the flawless assembly of the journal’s organization around the experience of “foreignness”, and the impressive work from the winners of SNC’s High School Writing Contest.
“The review is a huge feather in SNC’s cap and gives us a tremendous amount of credibility among writing programs.” Provost Shannon Beets
