After working for three years at the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center I had moved to San Francisco to expand my environmental career. In doing so, I was hired by Solum Inc., a company innovating in better and accurate soil measurement systems. Solum eventually opened up a lab out in Ames, Iowa, closer to the customer base. Now I lead a group of laboratory technicians in profiling agricultural soils. Where our data is used by Iowan and Minnesotan farmers helping them to adjust the amount of fertilizers needed for their crops. In turn, reducing runoff into our natural waterways by not over fertilizing. I plan on growing within this new company as well as eventually continuing my education in a graduate program that offers limnology as a degree.
