Patrick Krause, President and Chairman of IT Convergence, Inc., a global enterprise application services provider, spoke in President Gillette’s class on Tuesday night. Founded by Patrick in 1998 in San Francisco, the company became profitable nine months after its founding. IT Convergence has partnered with over 600 companies in over 50 countries. Patrick recently relocated the headquarters functions and his family to Incline Village from the Bay Area.
Patrick spoke about how over the 15 years of IT Convergence’s growth, Social Media has revolutionized business strategy. Success used to be based on “building walls” to keep everything confidential – customers, employee names, strategy. Today’s paradigm is to create a model that takes advantage of the new openness and virtually free access to any information. It has greatly changed the power of employees and customers; companies need to embrace this and live in the new paradigm. He emphasized to the students that success will be dependent on understanding how to thrive in this new connected world. Patrick noted that the benefit of a Liberal Arts education is the ability to take ambiguity and make clarity out of it – much needed in the global environment
Patrick’s goal in moving his business to the Incline area is to “bring the world to Incline Village, and with your help send alumni of SNC to the world”.
