With the massive popularity of snowboarding in Lake Tahoe, the SNC snowboard team has grown into a national powerhouse. The men’s team has won four consecutive USCSA National Championships, and each year the program aims to attract better riders and develop a schedule around some of the best events in snowboarding.
The team focuses on all aspects of snowboarding, including freeriding, racing, and park riding, with riders competing in every discipline—boardercross, giant slalom, halfpipe, and slopestyle. The more experienced riders travel to such US Snowboarding events as the Chevy Revolution Tour and Grand Prix. The Northern California Collegiate Snowsports Conference (Tahoe) and the Southern California Collegiate Snowsports (Mammoth, CA) also sponsor events. And, the top riders on the team travel each year to the USCSA Nationals to compete against the best college athletes in the country.
The team is open to experienced riders who are interested in snowboard competitions and who want to advance in their sport. Team riders choose SNC because of its unparalleled access to the mountains, and with 17 areas located within 45 minutes from the Incline Village campus, the team is able to take advantage of the numerous world-class terrain parks in its backyard. In fact, many of our team members are able to enjoy up to 100 days each season riding some of North America’s best terrain.
