2012 USCSA Men’s National Champions

With Lake Tahoe in our back yard it isn’t too surprising that Sierra Nevada College has a National Championship Freestyle Ski Team. Last year the team brought back many medals including the overall USCSA title. Each year the team strives to bring in a well rounded group of skiers and create a competitive schedule that will push each skier to both promote the college and also achieve their goals.

The Freestyle Ski Team competes in the United States Collegiate Ski/Snowboard Association (USCSA) and does contests within it’s three disciplines: slopestyle, halfpipe, and skiercross. Many skiers also choose to compete outside the collegiate series such as the Revolution Tour, The North Face Open, and the Grand Prix. Each year the best skiers will travel to the USACA National Championships to compete against the best collegiate athletes in the country.

The team is open to experienced skiers who are interested in competitions and who want to advance in their sport. Skiers choose SNC because of its unparalleled access to the mountains, and with 17 areas located within 45 minutes from the Incline Village campus, the team is able to take advantage of the numerous world-class terrain parks in its backyard. In fact, many of our team members are able to enjoy up to 100 days each season riding some of North America’s best terrain.
