High School Dual Enrollment
We are pleased to announce the opportunity for high school students in Washoe County and selected private schools to participate in a dual enrollment program with Sierra Nevada College. Students may enroll in college-level courses and receive college credit, with written permission from their high school guidance counselor.
Students must have a cumulative 3.0 Grade Point Average in order to qualify for this program. The student will submit the one-page application and the SNC approval form completed by the counselor. This form will verify the GPA of the student, SAT or ACT scores (if applicable), and the course name and time.
Lower-level courses in most subjects are open to qualifying students. If a student would like to take a Math or English course, the student must have a score of 500 in the appropriate category of the SAT, a composite 21 on the ACT, or pass an SNC placement exam. After completing the application, the student may contact the SNC Registrar to schedule an appointment for the placement exam: 775.831.1314 ext. 7435.
Tuition is $135 per credit hour. At the completion of the course, the student will receive an official grade from Sierra Nevada College and may request an official transcript.
If you have any questions regarding this dual enrollment program, please contact the SNC Admissions Office at the number below or talk with your counselor.
We look forward to seeing you on campus,
