Bookbinding 1: Seven Books in Five Days

Learn a total of seven different book structures in five days, starting with ingenious structures made from single sheets of paper and moving on to a Japanese stab bound book, a traditional cased-in hardcover book and ending with a beautiful Coptic-style journal with exposed sewing on the spine. Katherine will also cover how to edition your books and how to properly format digital content for binding. We’ll also look at lots of samples of artists’ books and handmade books, talk about local book binding resources and there will be plenty of detailed handouts to take home.
