ABSTRACT: Mixed Media Painting and the Landscape | July 15th – 19th, 2013

ABSTRACT is a mixed media painting/2-D workshop based on and around the landscape of the surrounding Lake Tahoe.  We will focus on not only the techniques and tricks behind pictorial space, but also how to incorporate the landscape in other ways. This is not your traditional landscape-painting workshop! Time will be spent sketching from what is seen, felt, and interpreted and that is where the magic happens.  Merging many different viewpoints with the world of mixed media is how the abstraction process begins.  We will discuss painting technique, color theory, and material manipulation in order to gain the most successful results.  I promise you will come out of this workshop with a new understanding and love of the ABSTRACT.
