Physical Science for Secondary Ed.

B.S. In Environmental Science, concentration in Physical Science for Secondary Education

Prepare to teach chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science in middle or high school. The curriculum includes a broad base of foundational science courses, meeting all the requirements for the Secondary Physical Science subject area endorsement in either Nevada or California, plus independent research and beginning teacher education courses.

Fast track to the classroom: students in this concentration who are enrolled in the Dual Degree Program at Sierra Nevada College can earn their B.S. in Environmental Science, Teaching Credential, and MA in Teaching degrees in five years. Demand for qualified science teachers is so great that SNC Master’s in Teaching candidates with B.S. degrees are often hired for full-time teaching positions while still completing their degrees.

Teaching students in the Incline Village Boy’s & Girl’s Club programs about effective handwashing, the importance of vaccinations, and how epidemics work through interactive games.
