Mr. Wendel was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and has been (and continues) to be a real estate developer since 1983. Prior to real estate, Mr. Wendel was an Attorney for the Securities and Exchange Commission. He holds degrees from the University of Rochester, and a Law Degree from Brooklyn Law School. He continues to develop projects throughout the United States. He currently is co-developer of Mesa Del Sol, a 9,000 acre project in Albuquerque, NM.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wendel has been passionate about philanthropy. He was the founder of a camp in Aspen, CO for children with terminal illness, God’s Little Acres in Coconut Creek, FL, and built an orphanage in Haiti for Mercy & Sharing. He was President of the Aspen Valley Medical Foundation and served on the board of the Jefferson Awards for Public Service. Together with his wife Diane, they oversee the Lisa Wendel Memorial Foundation, which is dedicated to the health and education of young people. Mr. Wendel has been the recipient of numerous awards for his philanthropy.
