Tim Guthrie | Digital Art Techniques (Photoshop & Other Digital Software)

July 20th – 24th, 2009

Beginning, Intermediate & Advanced Raster and Vector techniques, including Photoshop and Illustrator and other programs by request of participants.  Tim will also show you how he outputs images for use with traditional materials such as canvas, wood and ceramic.

Have you ever wanted to learn Photoshop from a master who has been using the program since the Version 2?  Have you ever wanted to learn advanced color correction techniques, completely understand Channels, and utilize Smart Objects to work seamlessly with Illustrator?  Ever wondered how to not only manipulate photos, but also learn how to create images from scratch using the computer?  Tim uses a very broad range of software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Painter and Maya and can answer many questions.

Participants will create digital artwork and also explore techniques for outputting digital work to various traditional media.  Although work will mainly be done on computers, this workshop will also address a range of media.  Participants will learn basics on outputting images for use on ceramic, wood, handmade paper, canvas, and many other traditional surfaces.

This workshop will be an extensive exploration of Photoshop and will include customized and adaptable instruction that will allow for many levels of expertise.  In order to accommodate very individual needs and goals, this workshop will be limited to ten people to guarantee as much individual time with the artist as possible.  This will provide plenty of individual time with the artist to explore very personalized goals.

Bonus

Tim will provide participants with free Quicktime movies showing how to use all of the tools in Photoshop CS4 and many of the Illustrator CS4 tools.  This is a $400-$500 value he is giving for free to all participants.
Tim Guthrie requests that all workshop participants enroll early and begin sending questions and concepts via email in order to prepare in advance for individual participant needs during the workshop.
