William and Carole Hutchison | Basic & Advanced Kiln-Formed Glass

Basic kiln-formed glass (fused glass)

The procedures and techniques taught in this class covers compatibility & testing, basic fusing, annealing, and slumping.  Art glass, recycled glass and stringers will be used to produce tiles, bowls, masks and fabric glass.  Working with fused glass gives an instant satisfaction creating art objects that can be both functional and expressive.
 

Advanced Kiln-formed glass (fused glass)

The advanced class takes fusing to another level.  Pattern bars, combing and kiln casting will be techniques explored.  The class will be a hands-on experience using these methods to create original pieces.
 

 Biographies

Carole and Bill Hutchison have been involved in the glass art field for the l

ast fifteen years.  Their experience includes stained glass, fusing & slumping, torch work, glass blowing and sandblast glass etching.  Education includes Camp Colton with Boyce Lundstrom, Clinics with Norm Dobbins, Gil Reynolds, Dan Fenton, Don McKinney, Loren Stump. Kevin O’Grady, Ed Broadfield, Dawson Kellogg, David Buck and yearly continuing education thru Bullseye Glass workshops.  Carole graduated in 2000 from Sierra Nevada College with a B.F.A.  Bill and Carole’s involvement in making kaleidoscopes has used fusing techniques for over 17 years.
