Joe Pennella | Visual Storytelling

Tell your story! We'll focus on the art of visual storytelling in the medium of video. Students will learn to take an idea from initial concept and turned into a finished product. The workshop will cover cinematic techniques and film grammar and the steps involved in pre-production, production and post-production.
 

Biography

Joe Pennella’s career began as a documentary filmmaker in Denver, CO, where he attended Denver University and received a B.A. in Mass Communications. After spending several years in Denver shooting award winning documentaries, he was offered a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin Public Television station in their documentary division as a cinematographer-editor. He later moved to Los Angeles where his focus changed to dramatic filmmaking.  He has spent the last 20 years working in the Hollywood Studio system as a Director of Photography shooting feature films, T.V. movies, episodic television, and commercials. Joe is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild and the Directors Guild of America. Visit the Internet Movie Data Base to see his credits.
