Tell your story! We'll focus on the art of visual storytelling in the medium of video. Students will learn to take an idea from initial concept and turned into a finished product. The workshop will cover cinematic techniques and film grammar and the steps involved in pre-production, production and post-production.
Biography
Joe Pennella’s career began as a documentary filmmaker in Denver, CO, where he attended Denver University and received a B.A. in Mass Communications. After spending several years in Denver shooting award winning documentaries, he was offered a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin Public Television station in their documentary division as a cinematographer-editor. He later moved to Los Angeles where his focus changed to dramatic filmmaking. He has spent the last 20 years working in the Hollywood Studio system as a Director of Photography shooting feature films, T.V. movies, episodic television, and commercials.
